about

I view "Tomorrow" as an important step forward in my recording process. I started integrating more than just piano / strings / drums by adding a bass line instrument that plays a prominent role. Additionally the instrumental section is a bit more interesting (I think, anyway) than previous songs.

This track sets the stage for the more abundant improvements seen in the next album ("The Second Time").

lyrics

"Tomorrow"

Never fell in love before
I didn't want to work that hard
My selfishness resides
Behind a fragile face
I have myself in mind
Refuse to give and take

So I close my eyes and then confide
In an empty wall that won't talk back
I can't take all the blame
For self-inflicted sorrow
She knew I felt this way
And she may return tomorrow

Tomorrow
I stave off my hunger by saying
I don't have love today
But tomorrow
We'll find that we both were mistaken
And she'll come back to stay

It's a bitter pill to swallow
To think she won't love me tomorrow

Loneliness controls my mind
It's hard to think of something new
Feelings I can't hide
Hit me without warning
I'm alone again tonight
But I won't rule out the morning

Tomorrow
I stave off my hunger by saying
I don't have love today
But tomorrow
We'll find that we both were mistaken
And she'll come back to stay

It's a bitter pill to swallow
To think she won't love me tomorrow
