about

This is a rare song where I thought of pretty much all the backing vocal parts when I initially wrote the song. So, when I went to record it I had everything I wanted to do already in mind and just needed to execute it. I think it turned out pretty well and it remains one of my favorite vocal arrangements.

lyrics

I never dreaded tomorrow
Or feared the unknown
Never drowned in my sorrow
Or lost all I owned

Love entered the picture
Took its place in the frame
Love's taken all I acquired
Now it's taking the blame

Love's to blame
Stare in amazement in shocked disbelief
I'd respond that way
If this were not happening to me

Love's to blame
State her sentence against her exposed to reproaches
Pronounce all sins to her face
Love's to blame

I'd never found fiercer feelings
Pouring fuel on the fire
(Or) counted lines on the ceiling
During cold sleepless nights

Love took exception
When it stepped on the scene
Took my sense of direction
Now it's taking the heat

Love's to blame
Stare in amazement in shocked disbelief
I'd respond that way
If this were not happening to me

Love's to blame
State her sentence against her exposed to reproaches
Pronounce all sins to her face
Love's to blame
