about

Ever tried playing a realistic-sounding xylophone using a keyboard? It's not easy. I'm pretty happy with the results despite the limitations inherent in using a keyboard.

This song is notable for being my first fade-out ending. I generally dislike doing it, but in this case it felt like the best option.

Writing lyrics is an art, and Jon's ability to write a music-friendly lyric has always amazed me.

lyrics

I never knew you
Funny how I viewed you
Handed the world on a tray

Not much of a thinker
Never lifted a finger
Who told you that life was that way

Delicate dainty
An elegant lady
You arrested my senses somehow

I thought it was fleeting
Fought it till bleeding
Guess who's in love with you now

The depth of your beauty
Seemed to elude me
Denuded of reason till blind

Overcome and persuaded
By misinformation
From insecure minuscule minds

My conscious decision
Was to steer clear of women
For fear I'd stop living somehow

A glimpse at perfection
A hint of affection
Guess who's in love with you now

I thought it was fleeting
Fought it till bleeding

A glimpse of perfection
A hint of affection

The best laid of plans
Is foiled again

Guess who's in love with you now
